a new year..

rather than doing my usual: taco bell and watching the ball drop, i decided enough of that. i called ashley, the only other person not doing anything, and we decided to have a quiet dinner at amanda's fonda.

we got caught up, talked alot, ate, and really just enjoyed ourselves. i've never had a margarita, but i had a sip of hers and it was delicious! so delicious! our dinner was great. great conversation, great company. and afterwards we went back to her house and watched 500 days of summer. i just got home.

what do i hope for the new year? well, i hope to find an amazing job after graduation. to move to a different place, far far away. do some traveling later on in the year? and hopefully meet someone special. i mean, that sounds cheesy right?

"is any of this worth it if you don't have someone to share it with?" says my dad. maybe not?

boisterous bloomers

somehow, cookie shopping on etsy lead to edible sugar butterflies and handmade underwear.

i stumbled upon a seller who specializes in highwasited underwear. sounds like a snore, i know, but there is something very sexy about them? instantly it reminded me of that heidi montag spread in maxim last year. i remember wondering what the heck kinda underwear she was wearing on the cover that made her butt look so good. maybe they were highwaisted thongs? now that i compare images, they might in fact be!
highwasited underwear... or in this case "high rise."

i'm really loving that orange-ish colour. there's something a bit retro about them. i've never seen these types in stores that weren't some bizarro body morphing abomination. these are just a cotton knit i believe. so wonderful!

chapped lips

i'm not sure why, but my lips have suddenly become dry and chapped. they feel like sandpaper when i rub them together, and i'm scared to put anything on them because when i do it usually causes cold sores to flare and i dont want any icky coldsores. so i just keep licking them which is probably not good?

i don't have anything decent to put on them. just a large assortment of lip glosses that will only make it worse i'm sure. a couple weeks ago i bought this new lip balm from nivea, just impulsively at the checkout line, and it's awful. it smells extremely perfumy and tastes that way also. it doesn't smell like anything normal, a normal scent. the smell is so artificially bad it grosses me out when i wear it because i can't not smell what's on my lips.

enough whinning, hahaha...

i stayed up pretty late talking to b. he shared some things that surprised me, left me speechless really, but i applaud his honesty and the fact that he can be so open with me. it made me feel really good to know we could be on that level. -sigh- i like him so much. it's a sickness really. one where i can't stop thinking about him EVER.

what is it about him? why is he so beautiful to me? i don't want to like anyone right now, but i can't help this. i don't think i've ever wanted anyone so much. =(

on a lighter note: i have 9 relatives visiting from korea. lastnight we had dinner at red robin's, and then saw avatar. hmm...yep.

razor love

i wouldn't say that i'm a big shopper, but when i see something i like, i'll think about it, and if after a few days if still want it, i go for it.

for the last couple years i've kinda been bouncing back and forth with razors especially. the kinds that you shave your legs with? haha ok. i was using one i purchased from whole foods, the replaceable cartridge type, but it was discontinued last year. i'll admit, it wasn't the best razor, because i did have to replace the entire thing several times a year, but it always gave me a good close shave. i've tried electric, disposables, and just the standard kinds, and have never really found anything i was that fond of.

so lets rewind back 3 weeks ago. i was at target looking for something new. not necessarily anything in particular, but i ended up in the razor aisle. i was sniffing shaving creams and really just taking my time there. there was a shaver/trimmer that caught my eye. it was all electric, but electric razors kind of scare me. the one i had several years ago would yank the hair out as opposed to shaving. scary and painful! and it's around $40, which didn't appeal to me at the time. i keep looking and i come across this new schick trim style. it's a standard razor on one end and a trimmer on the other. the trimmer is battery operated and the whole thing is shower safe, so you can use it wet or dry. it cost somewhere between $10-$13 but i have to say, i looooove it! it's the best razor ever! ever ever ever! i've been using it since the day i purchased it and it's probably my favourite thing. i'm not a hairy person, but boy, i get excited using it everytime. hahaha!

i've actually never owned a trimmer, but it has come in quite handy. ;) now i don't think i could live without one?

finds

chotto tote by christystudio

i'm kind of bored with the bags i have and i've been searching for something new for a few weeks now. i'm trying to steer clear of designer labels; they're such a waste of money and i'd rather buy handmade anyway.

so here are some of my etsy finds. not just bags but items i'm considering purchasing or atleast keeping an eye on. nice that i can save these here.

mmm yes

the year is almost over, which means it's that time again...time for a new years resolution! i've heard a few good ones so far, but i'm going to stick to my guns this year. my new years resolution is to...DUN DUN DUN... journal! document this last year of college, last year in colorado, and whatever else comes along the way. that way one day i can reflect on all thats changed and remember this year of transition.

i also want to stop drinking coke, soda, carbonated beverages, what have you. but i won't give up on coffee. the journal thing is the main thing.

i guess i should start by reflecting on where i am, as of today. i'm a senior at an art college, i'm about to start grad research which is exciting and scary. im about to move back home with the parents, so that it's easier to leave colorado after graduation. and that's really about it.

lastnight i drove to santa fe to see b, but i didn't end up seeing him. i won't go into it. but i will say i do like him bunches. oh boy, so many bunches. he left my time zone to go back to new york city today. which maybe is why i'm starting this tonight, so that i can remember.

kristen and i had lunch at 1, shopped a little, tried to volunteer but got turned down, then decided to see sherlock holmes @ kimballs. i had a milky way mocha. i don't know what milky way tastes like, but it was quite good.

that's all i got for now.
